Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so today we went to the movies to see "Dark Shadows (her suggestion). It was okay. All of my friends said that it sucked but hey, what do they know? I kind of liked it. I felt like they advertised it too much as a comedy though, it was more of an attempted dramady (drama/comedy). For some reason it really reminded me of "Beetlejuice". I liked Dark Shadows though, it was cute... in a creepy way. I'm happy though because I'm having a good start to my memorial weekend. I hope you all enjoy your weekend as well. :)

So I have this assignment to do in my theater class. The assignment is call "The Song of your Life". The song doesn't have to be a representation of your life, but u have to be able to put 100% of your soul into the song. You must fill the room with an explosion of presence and just think about yourself for a second. You should not be trying to impress anyone. The song I am singing is "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato. Honestly, I really don't like Disney Channel stars at all. I think their phony, but for some reason I just connect to that song, so I'm going to sing it. I'm a little sketchy right now but I PROMISE to post a video of me singing it on this blog. 

I got my costume for one of my tap pieces in recital this year. I'm not super happy about it though. I did a performance a couple months ago to the vintage jazz song "In the Mood" and we are wearing THE SAME SKIRTS as in that performance. I don't want to wear the same costume that I wore a couple months ago. It's unprofessional. I understand that my school is going through budget cuts, and we're kind of in a crisis right now but, my school has an entire story of costumes just for the dance department so I don't understand why they couldn't have just given us one of the costumes up there. They have PLENTY. I'm sorry for ranting, I'm just a little frustrated right now.

Today I had a great day!!!! First of all, I got 30/30 on my social studies test! God Bless America!!! <3 <3 Second of all, I saw my ballet costume today. It was a perfect fit. It's baby blue, gold, and green. It has a corset for the torso, and a ruffled skirt that goes down to my knees. I feel like a princess when I wear it! It's wonderful, I may have unintentionally boasted at school though. I could see envy in the Intermediate 3's eyes. You see, I'm in Intermediate 2, which is I higher level of dance. Those Intermediate 3's where really mad at us. The costume isn't new, Dance West (my schools top dance company) wore the same dresses in a performance a couple weeks ago, but I'm not offended, I'm honored. By the way, in case you haven't caught on yet, I go to an Art School. We have normal classes like Math, Social Studies, English, and Science, but we also have election classes like Dance, Theater, Painting, Ceramics etc. It's a school, but I like to think of it more as a community. 

I started this blog because my friend Darcy said I should do so. So I did. I named this blog "elephant in the room" because well, it's a cool name. I know it's super creative right? I bet 5 bucks nobody was actually thinking my title was creative. OH WELL. I don't actually know why I created a post to say that, but I did. ROCK ON ELEPHANTS!
